Your Gift Supports - Education
The Education department helps people of all ages come to a better and deeper relationship with Jesus. This happens by providing resources and materials to Catholic schools, parish religious education programs and adult faith formation programs on a week-to-week basis. The Education area provides parishes and schools with curriculum that guides their educational programs. Here are a few other examples of programs provided through Education:
- U.S. Catechism for Adults Seminars helps train parish leaders in the newly adopted Catechism for adults.
- Principal Leadership Days provides school leaders with an opportunity to reflect and share some of the best practices in Catholic schools.
- Genesis to Jesus Bible Study is a program that travels to parishes across the diocese teaching the basic building blocks of our faith.
- Religious Certification Program provides certification for all religious education leaders and Catholic School principals.
In 2008, the Bishop’s Appeal distributed $1,014,835 to the Education department to support their ministries.
